Company Overview
Pete’s Pressure Wash is a locally owned exterior cleaning company serving Raymond, Frye Island, and Windham Maine. The company specializes in residential exterior cleaning with a focus on deck restoration, dock cleaning, house soft washing, concrete cleaning, and other exterior surfaces commonly found on lakefront and seasonal properties.
The goal of Pete’s Pressure Wash is to provide homeowners with reliable, affordable, and professional cleaning services that improve curb appeal while protecting the long-term condition of their property. Rather than relying on high pressure for every job, we use surface-specific cleaning methods that combine professional cleaning solutions with the appropriate amount of pressure to safely deliver superior results.
Our target customers include year-round homeowners, seasonal residents, vacation rental owners, property managers, and homeowners preparing to sell or maintain their property. We aim to build a reputation for quality workmanship, honest communication, and dependable service.
Services
Pete’s Pressure Wash offers a variety of residential exterior cleaning services designed to safely clean and restore different types of surfaces.
- House Soft Washing – House washing is performed using a soft wash process rather than traditional high-pressure washing. A low-pressure system applies a diluted sodium hypochlorite solution with a professional surfactant to eliminate mold, mildew, algae, and organic staining without damaging siding or paint. This process is safe for vinyl siding, fiber cement, painted wood, and other common exterior finishes while providing longer-lasting results than pressure alone.
- Deck Cleaning – Deck cleaning is one of the company’s primary services. Each deck is evaluated before cleaning to determine the safest and most effective method based on the wood type and condition. For pressure-treated and cedar decks, the preferred cleaning system uses sodium percarbonate (oxygen bleach) to remove dirt, mildew, algae, and weathering. After cleaning, an oxalic acid wood brightener is applied to restore the natural wood color, neutralize the cleaner, and prepare the surface for staining if desired. Cleaning is completed using low pressure to protect the wood fibers from unnecessary damage. Composite decks are cleaned using manufacturer-safe products and lower pressure to remove mold, algae, dirt, and organic staining without damaging the decking material.
- Dock Cleaning – Dock cleaning is a specialty service tailored to the lakefront communities surrounding Sebago Lake and Frye Island. Docks often accumulate algae, mildew, lake staining, and slippery organic growth throughout the season. Our cleaning process restores appearance while improving safety for homeowners and guests.
- Concrete Cleaning Concrete driveways, sidewalks, patios, garage floors, and pool decks are cleaned using a commercial surface cleaner for an even, streak-free finish. When necessary, surfaces are pre-treated with cleaning solutions to remove algae and black organic staining before pressure washing.
- Additional Services – Additional services include fence cleaning, seawall cleaning, patios, walkways, and other exterior hard surfaces. As the business grows, future service offerings may include roof soft washing, gutter brightening, deck staining, fence staining, window cleaning, and annual maintenance plans.
Professional Cleaning Methods
One of the biggest differences between Pete’s Pressure Wash and many competitors is the emphasis on using the correct cleaning chemistry instead of relying solely on high pressure.
The primary products used include:
- Sodium Percarbonate (Oxygen Bleach): Used for pressure-treated wood, cedar decks, docks, and other wood surfaces. It safely removes dirt, mildew, algae, and weathering while brightening the wood.
- Oxalic Acid: Applied after cleaning wood surfaces to restore their natural appearance, neutralize the cleaning solution, and improve stain absorption.
- Sodium Hypochlorite: Used primarily for house washing and concrete cleaning to eliminate mold, mildew, algae, and organic staining. It is mixed at appropriate concentrations with professional surfactants to maximize cleaning performance while minimizing risk to surrounding surfaces.
Using the correct chemicals allows the cleaning solutions to do most of the work, reducing the need for excessive pressure and helping preserve the integrity of the surfaces being cleaned.
