It’s a Winter Wonderland

What a beautiful morning on Raymond Cape. I write this post while House Sitting a magnificant home, with nearly 180 degree view of Sebago Lake. I just can’t see a whole lot right now, due to the blizzard!

Ah, The Way Life Should Be.

Oh, wait — it is!!!

Our crew is presently out performing snow removal for those of you who have subscribed to our services. That said, after receiving over a foot of snow and the recent FRIGID temperatures, it is highly recommended that lakehome owners consider the following…

First, if the snow we’ve received is too much for you to clear, just call or text and we’ll take care of it for you. If you are remote, and plan on visiting your lakehouse this winter, you’ll want to be able to enter your driveway. If you wait to clear the snow until you arrive, it may well be frozen solid and VERY difficult to deal with. And/or, to avoid your house looking vacant just call or text and we’ll take care of all that snow for you!

Second, with the accumulating snow, ice dams will begin to form on some roofs. Left unchecked serious problems can result. If you would like us to check your roof and clear snow on the edge (if necessary), just call or text, and we’ll take care of it for you.

Third, considering the sub-zero temperatures, and the heavy load of snow, if your house is not completely winterized, it would be prudent to have someone perform an internal check on your lakehouse to ensure there are no issues (e.g., roof leaks from ice dams, broken pipes, etc.).

Fourth – If you want the ultimate peace of mind, we offer House Sitting services. We will ensure your house remains “lit up” prior to, during and after a storm. And, if/when something happens we’re there to IMMEDIATELY respond, contact you regarding what is going on and spring into action to ensure resolution of whatever the issue may be (e.g., tree fallen on your house, power outage and no generator, broken pipes / flooded basement, etc.).

Finally, if you haven’t yet, you might consider Using Technology to Manage your Home Away from Home (click the link to learn more about the many options in this regard).

Bottom-line: Contact us NOW if you have any concerns regarding your lakehouse, during or after this AWESOME winter storm. We can be reached via phone or text at: 207-370-4235.

p.s. – It is almost time to take the snowmobile out on the lake, from the tip of Raymond Cape, to Raymond boat launch, to wherever the trails may lead…
