Happy New Year!
It has been a successful first year, here at Raymond Cape Winter Watch!
As such, we’d like to offer a big, sincere thank you to our MANY clients for their patronage, testimonials and word-of-mouth support, enabling us to rapidly establish our customer-base.
It was just over a year ago when it dawned on Jeff Foley and Craig Bailey, while working (actually playing) on the Frye Island Ferry, that there was a significant unmet need, down here, at the end of Raymond Cape.
More specifically, even during the offseason homes in the area still require attention, including:
- Completing much needed maintenance work (internal and external repairs, etc.) and/or remodeling so the home can be thoroughly enjoyed during the prime, summertime season!
- First response to various alarms (security, fire, smoke, temperature, etc.) that a homeowner may receive.
- During storms and/or power outages, checking to ensure generators are running and resolving issues when they aren’t.
- Routinely checking in to identify any damage that may have resulted from a recent storm, if a break-in occurred, if there has been a rodent infestation, flooded basement, frozen pipes, and to water plants!
- Putting out and/or returning trash cans.
- Mail / package pickup.
- Snow removal.
- Site coordination for ANY of the above, should the property owner need a trusted resource to oversee the work, allow service providers access to the property, etc.
- And, so much more!
In addition, for year-round residents we have been a resource to call on for help, in our fairly remote location. This includes:
- Addressing flat tires, jump-starting vehicles.
- Providing in-home assistance services such as: picking up provisions (including prescriptions) while in town, providing rides to/from “the big city” and checking in on folks on behalf of themself and their family members.
- Providing house / dog sitting services while property owners are enjoying a brief winter get-away.
Those of “us” who live at the end of Raymond Cape know that it is not always easy to get service providers down here in a timely fashion. Once we are able to reach someone to service us, we must ask – are they any good? And, finally, it can cost over $100 just to get someone down here to scope things out (before even beginning the work).
Having lived in this beautiful location for nearly a decade, we know the challenges, know the needs and are extremely pleased to be here as your single resource to call. And, if we cannot do the work ourselves (e.g., a specialized skill is required such as electrician or plumber), we’ll recommend service providers we’ve had success with maintaining our own homes and/or that of our customers.
In closing, if you have any “interests” at the end of Raymond Cape and need a trusted resource you can rely on, on a 24x7x365 day basis, please consider us the only number you need to call (207-370-4235). And, if you want to find out if we are any good, check out our many testimonials, or just ask a neighbor – they quite possibly are our customer 🙂
